Dhaka: Amidst escalating violent protests, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left the country and arrived in Agartala, the capital of India's Tripura state. Hasina, along with her sister-in-law, departed Bangladesh after protesters attacked her official residence with stones. According to BBC Hindi, Hasina's team has moved to a secure location.

Today's clashes between police and protesters in the capital, Dhaka, resulted in the deaths of at least six people, including incidents in the Jatrabari and Dhaka Medical College areas. Despite a curfew, tens of thousands of Bangladeshis have taken to the streets in protest.

The student protests, which have been ongoing, have claimed the lives of at least 300 people in Bangladesh. Last month, the government deployed the army in an attempt to suppress the unrest.
